Woohoo Im back!

Wed Jul 22, 2009, 5:48 PM
Anyone miss me?

mmm probably not. Oh well.

So Here I am after a 20 hour plane flight from London (holy crap)after a 4 hour flight from Vienna the day before. Can you say jetlagged? Yeah, we left at 12 noon London time, then sat for 20 hours plus a two hour layover in Dallas, then arrived at...7:30 pm California time. So my whole internal clock is all screwed up...

The trip was fun. I'll start by saying I don't really like travelling (which is sad cause my family goes EVERYWHERE). But it wasnt too bad. We flew into London, saw Stonehenge and stuff (its really just a big pile of rocks. Big rocks, but rocks nonetheless), then flew to Munich. We bussed to Passau where we rented bikes, then biked to vienna following the Danube River. We averaged about 30 km per day, which isnt that much on bike, but we had heavy packs with everything we neded for three weeks and my brother is still young. I found out that Im allergic to austrian mosqitoes, after getting a golf ball sized lump on my left arm. Yep, great to know if I ever go back... mmmm, saw some great museums and concerts in vienna, flew back to london, overnighted, then flew back home. Exhausting, but now Im back.

I did lots of writting for Lies and Loyalties. I'll be posting that stuff when I get it typed. Its all written in a notebook right now. I'm afraid it conflicts with a few of the scenes in Yuki's OR where Tanuki is talking about his past life, but I hope thats ok.

Speaking of OR, I reread all of it to make sure things lined up well enough with my story. I realized this the first time I read it to, but I saw two things: One, Tanuki is probably the most pathetic character I've ever seen. I mean he never does anything, he's extremely shallow, and the one time the story is from his POV, it just talks about him being stuffed cause he ate too much. I mean honestly, even in the final fight with Alexander, Yuki specifies that his flute did nothing. He's weak, not really very inteligent (I mean his 'big plan' in Odd Reunions was just to put Nepharious to sleep and figure the rest out later), and manages to not only betray everyone for stupid reasons but also get horribly beat up in the process.
Two, he's so detatched from the group. When Yuki pulls out the pictures, he mentions he's not in either one. But more than that he's not close to anyone even by the end, a loner, worse than Ravenna. Yuki manages to leave him out of the final scene in Odd Reunions, and just says he lived happily with his wife at the end of Remembrances. He's the only one who doesnt really fit. He feels like he's not really part of the group.
So I was wondering, is that what I am in real life? An outsider? Just a minor character who gets beaten up and shipped away to Japan? Just a wanna-be OR member...? Maybe...

Hmmm...you know if you look at Tanuki's list of accomplishments (or lack there of) one starts to wonder if Yuki really likes me...

Ok I'll Stop ranting now.

Ugg, Kyla has the worst timing. She insists on becoming closer to God and abandoning all technology for the few days that I'm here (mormon camp). So for the days both before I leave and after I get back, she's not here, out doing mormon things. Luckily she gets back on Friday, meaning I have one day with her before I leave again... :(

This is a really long journal entry...I think people want me to shut up now...
Good to be back! :)

And just letting everyone know, I got a 5 on my Euro AP Test. Yeah, perfect score. (Maybe thats why Yuki doesn't like me).

Only say you're back if you're going to keep coming back. After like three times, it begins to lose all meaning.
